U5-6 Pre Academy Ages

 

U5-6 Program

For our youngest players we will introduce them to the game of soccer in a fun and friendly manner throughout the season.  There will be some changes at FSA in the format for this season.  Teams will be formed at the beginning of the season that will practice once per week together with a volunteer coach.  The entire age group, even with teams, will practice at the same time at the FSA Soccer Complex with sessions designed and overseen by the clubs Academy Director.  Each team will play 5-6 of their games as a team over the course of the season.  Several times during the season the entire age group will be scrambled for practice and the weekend game giving all players a chance to play for different coaches and with different players.  This will give us the best of both a team based format and the mixed academy approach.  We want to develop not only each individual group but also every player in the program.

These players are beginning to understand how to play with buddies and also have a greater ability to deal skillfully with the ball.  There will be some changes to the format for this season at FSA.  Teams will be formed at the beginning of each season that will practice once per week with their team and a second time each week mixed with all of the players from the age group.  This gives the players the opportunity to get to know players very well on their team but also understand and get to know a larger group of friends and players in the club.  The training session as a team will be with their game day coach supported by the Academy Director and the mixed academy session will be run by our professional staff.  Each team will play 6 of their games as a team over the course of the season.  Several times during the season the entire age group will be scrambled for the weekend game giving all players a chance to play for different coaches and with different players.  This will give us the best of both a team based format and the mixed academy approach.  We want to develop not only each individual group but also every player in the program.

U9-10 Program

At this age players are beginning to play well with groups and are at a great age to begin to refine their technical ability.  There will be some changes to the format for age group at FSA this season.  Teams will be formed at the beginning of each season that will practice once per week together and a second time each week mixed with all of the players from the age group.  This gives the players the opportunity to get to know players very well on their team but also understand and get to know a larger group of friends and players in the club.  Each training session will be run by our professional staff with the volunteers who will coach our teams.  The U9-10 players will play in appropriate local leagues and will play full schedules against other local groups and clubs.  Though the large majority of games will be played with the teams formed at the beginning of the season we will still mix the teams and play as a club several times through the fall.
